Sublimation transfer paper is the bridge between your digital design and a finished product — whether that's a polyester jersey, a ceramic mug, or a custom phone case. Get it right, and the result is a vivid, permanently embedded print that won't crack or peel. Get it wrong, and you end up with ghosting, dull colors, or ink that washes out after the first cycle. Sublimation transfer paper is a specially coated sheet that holds sublimation ink on its surface after printing. When heated under a heat press, the ink converts directly from solid to gas — no liquid stage — and infuses into the polyester fibers or polymer-coated surface of your substrate. The result is a print that lives inside the material, not on top of it. It feels smooth to the touch and resists fading through hundreds of washes.

Pre-press your garment or blank for 5–10 seconds. This removes trapped moisture and flattens wrinkles, both of which can cause uneven color transfer or ghosting. Cover with protective paper to shield the press platens from stray ink, then close the press firmly.
Once the timer ends, open the press and peel the sublimation paper away in one smooth, fluid motion. For fabrics, peel immediately while still warm — waiting too long can cause the paper to re-adsorb ink. For hard surfaces, a few seconds of cooling first can prevent smudging.
